Matthew Yifeng is a quadrilingual actor who hails from Toronto, Chicago, and Beijing. He is best known for his role in Skin Can Breathe on HBO Max.
After training at the Chicago Merit School of Music as a classical pianist and competing on the nationally televised Chinese singing show SUPERBOY 快乐男声, Matthew graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University, where he studied Cognitive Science, Computer Science, and Spanish.
As a producer, Matthew is also a Founding Member of Diverso--a student-run nonprofit that breaks underrepresented student screenwriters into Hollywood-- coordinating with speakers like Barry Jenkins, Chloe Zhao, and The Daniels. He secured financial sponsors such as WarnerMedia, Oprah Winfrey’s OWN, and the Lin-Manuel Miranda Family Fund during Diverso’s inaugural year of funding.
He once solo traveled to 22 countries across 4 continents as a recipient of the Vanderbilt Michael B. Keegan Traveling Fellowship, a fellowship awarded annually to 1-2 graduating seniors and reserved for "Vanderbilt's most promising future global leaders."
